PROFESSIONAL DRUMMER

Braden Cox (@bradenplaysdrumsnstuff) has been playing drums in some capacity for over 15 years with his broad footprint allowing him to reach a variety of audiences. Having grown up in a church that plays modern worship music, his initial public drum performances were with a professionally-trained worship band, with which he still regularly plays and serves as an on-stage MD. After completing his college education, he devoted himself full-time to drum education and performance through various outlets. A natural and inquisitive learner, Braden has committed himself to ongoing personal growth in his craft — studying locally in SC as well as under Broadway percussionist Carter McLean. He’s spent the last five years sharing that knowledge with students of all ages — from preschoolers to retirees — through private instruction. Braden currently serves as the drum instructor for the Ben Lippen Fine Arts Academy in Columbia, SC, where he’s known for building meaningful relationships with his students and tailoring lessons to fit a wide range of learning needs, including those with special needs. He has also won an online contest sponsored by Grammy-nominated, August Burns Red drummer Matt Greiner and has played with Dove Award nominee, Mack Brock. Most days of the week, though, he can be found accompanying the Sam & Illia Band in the central SC music scene, playing a wedding or private event with his band Golden Hour Groove, playing with country artist Michael Haney, or creating music/drum content with his goofy personality.
